My current gallery project is to create 10-12 framed large print works around the Welsh theme of Hiraeth. Hiraeth is a Welsh word that has no direct English translation. However, the University of Wales attempts to define it as homesickness tinged with grief or sadness over the lost or departed. It is a mix of longing, yearning, nostalgia, wistfulness, and the earnest desire for the Wales (World) of the past.

ABOUT ME: I consider myself to be primarily a Portrait Artist and Fine Art Nude Photographer. I am continually drawn to the art nude because it is a timeless expression of the beauty and grace of the human body. I believe that how a person presents themselves nude is an immediate and natural extension of how they present themselves daily to the world. In fact, I consider my nude works to be just another form or portraiture.

I dislike nude works that push a sexual or political agenda. I prefer my work to present the nude body as the focus of each image, often relying on nothing more than a simple color background and single studio light setup. I challenge my models to bring themselves as they are to the image. My finished works do not portray a world of ideals, only the wondrous reality of lived-in physical bodies.
